Family fun

You may have seen pictures of my friends Deb and Dan from a previous shoot. Well, this time they brought along the entire bunch. Talk about a good laugh! Despite the hot sun, everyone had great smiles and we all had a great time. Sessions like these are some of my favorites. It takes me back to my grandmother's photo albums when she would point out group shots and name all of my relatives. I love the thought of all the kids looking back at such happy pictures with a little, "remember this..." in their conversation.

Kids being kids

If there is one thing I've learned about photographing kids, it's "go with the flow". Every parent has experience with this... the harder you try to get a child to look at you and smile, the more unhappy the child seems to look. You have to train yourself to be super patient and to watch carefully for that split second after the laugh when they look at you for approval and their face is relaxed in pure happiness. Having said that, it is still not an easy thing to do. This bunch of cousins were full of laughs, and let's just say it was a good challenge and practice of this very principle.

Angel in the garden

Can you believe it! Blakely is already 18 months old! She is turning into such a sweet little girl with her own little personality. I remember when I did Dawson's 18 month photos. I know it sounds cliche but, my how time flies!
