It's Official!

It's official! I have finally completed my photography course at Gainesville State College. I have to say a big thanks to an amazing teacher and all around nice guy - Michael Robertson of Robertson Studio. Thanks to him, students eagerly hone their craft and the industry bar can be held high and to a proud standard. Looking back, it is obvious to me - the difference in skill from beginning to end. Here's to life-long learning and chasing your dreams.

Laughing all the way - ha ha ha!

Everyone needs a good laugh every now and then. Andrea's two comedians had me snickering the entire time. We recently visited a new location for me, to do this year's Christmas portraits... Feeman's Mill Park. I am not sure which of us had more fun with this one. Thanks you guys, I really needed this one :)

I am always honored when my photographer friends ask me to do a session for them. Meet Miss May - "Pretty Polly"

Look beyond those ruby red lips and beautiful smile and you will see an amazing woman. I first met Danielle in photography class at Gainesville college. Becoming fast friends I just had to be a part of her incredible cause.

Danielle and her friend/cofounder Dena Stahl have poured blood, sweat, and tears into PINUPS FOR SOLDIERS. Every year they work tirelessly to build a very cool calendar - pinup style!  Each calendar sold helps to build care packages for our fighting men and women overseas.

Christmas is just around the corner and the Pinup girls are playing Santa's elves, but they need your help. I beg of you - If you know, or know of someone giving everything they've got to bring us our freedom, support this cause.

Danielle and Dena are aiming for an amazing 800 goody-filled stockings to send to our troops this holiday season. REALLY think about what it would be like to spend Christmas away from your family and what it could mean to have just a little piece of home.

I had the pleasure of photographing Danielle for the month of May... not only is she beautiful but also strong, driven, smart and generous - JOIN HER CAUSE!

The next chapter...

I was praying for a fantastic finish... and boy did we get it. The other day was Blakely's last session in her "baby series". Shelly made a brilliant call to move the shoot to the morning since we had a 40% chance of rain that afternoon. Vines Botanical Garden has definitely become one of my new favorite spots!

It was actually quicker than anticipated! As I processed this restoration, I quickly realized it was a pencil sketch and not a photograph. Either way, I hafta say - I am pleased with the end result. So I just recently put out a message to all FEP facebook fans. I was looking for an old photo to restore to use on display at the upcoming GMC craft show. I could not have asked for a more perfect specimen.

My good friend Dawn, just happened to have one of her mother's distant relatives. I am very excited about finishing this project...

Take a look at the before. I had to scan it in four quadrants and put them together in photoshop.
It measures 16 x 20 and is from the 1800's. Stay tuned for the final result!
